Ronda Rousey speaks, but it’s not exactly what we expected to hear…
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been particularly quiet over the past two years. Her media blackout started after UFC 193, where she was completely dominated by Holly Holm.
Prior to one of the biggest upsets, at least on paper, in MMA history, Rousey was the one dishing out domination. With the tables unceremoniously turned and Rousey knocked out cold, she did not take it well.
Perhaps it was all the trash she talked before hand, but the fans were ruthless in their reaction. So started Rousey’s media silence, and the talks of retirement.

Comeback & Leave
Then came Rousey’s ill-fated comeback. After literally no contact with the media for nearly a year, ‘Rowdy’ decided it was time to fight again. We now know that her return bout against the fierce champion Amanda Nunes was a terrible idea.
Even after the terrible beating at the hands of Holm, there were still fans who believed Rousey would be victorious. As the final punches slammed in to the forehead of a clearly overmatched ex-champion, viewers at UFC 207 were left with no questions.
Well, apart from why the f*ck she still trained with coach Edmond. Now, seven months on, Rousey gives her first interview since being consumed by ‘The Lioness.’

Long Time No Speak
As per MMAWeekly.com, Rousey’s first interview since UFC 207 is a weird one. She discusses the vacation she took with now-fiance Travis Browne. As the two were away in New Zealand, a gang of local thugs burgled her house and stole many possessions:
“We stopped by the house right before we were going to go to the airport and he was going to sneak away and go ask my mom for permission but right when we got to the house, we realized we were robbed. Someone had been squatting in my house for like three days, sleeping in my bed.
“[They] stole my Olympic rings, stole my guns, stole all my precious jewelry, every headphone in the house, credit cards.”

“We have security cameras so we looked back at them and we saw that they were a bunch of kids with skateboards and there’s a famous skate park right across the street cause we’re in Venice. So my man’s 6’7” like 260 [pounds], he like beelines it straight to the skateboard park, finds the guys right away.
“He’s smart enough not to [hit them], we’ll get sued pretty hard, but he found the police right then and they caught them.”
Although a couple of professional MMA fighters, Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne were still victims of a pretty harsh crime. At least they likely got all their possessions returned after the police became involved.
As for her fighting career? More than likely done for good now.
