Most movie fans will remember the 1999 Brad Pitt & Edward Norton flick ‘Fight Club.’ Set in the murky backdrop of an insomniac and his imaginary friend, the movie delves in to the world of underground fight clubs.
Released during the awakening period of the UFC and other MMA organisations, ‘Fight Club’ was a hit with many MMA fans. Although it was fiction, the David Flincher-directed box office smash wasn’t far from reality, at least in Russia anyway.
Join us as we take a look at the insane Russian fight clubs that are growing in notoriety.
Russian Fight Clubs
In Moscow, a group of underground fighters known as Ronin Family. The idea of the Ronin Family is to allow business men and other socialites to take a week’s crash course in true violence, all for the cost of $900 USD.
The Ronin Family is advertised on the internet, and is growing in popularity. Knife fights, bareknuckle boxing and team building exercises all make up this highly violent soul-searching experience.

Bloody Reality
This is an example of about how far unregulated hand-to-hand combat can go, but there are other variations too. The above video is from a group who are unidentified, but the next clan is highly infamous.
Spartak Gladiators
Described in some circles as Neo-Nazis, others as football hooligans, the Spartak Gladiators are a notorious firm who preach violence. Although they are dedicated to a football team, these tough looking SOB’s often meet up for a good old organised scrap.
The Ultras are also accused of instigating the Euro 2016 riots that led to a crazy stream of brutal gang fights.

The idea of Arrows Fight Club is quite simple-two men, whether skilled or not, enter a ring decked with sand. You either tap out, gas out, get KO’d or fight to a draw. Although not strictly based on any one martial art, the Arrows scene has a mixed martial arts feel to it.
