The most notorious trash talker in the game had a huge influence on Holly Holm before her UFC 193 knockout win against Ronda Rousey….
Before UFC 193 went down in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday November 14, very few people believed that Holly Holm would leave the octagon with the win. The champion Ronda Rousey had been looking more dominant than ever, and the odds were heavily against Holm.
Then came arguably the biggest upset upset in MMA history, and definitely the biggest shocker in women’s mixed martial arts history. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ turned up and bashed the UFC’s biggest PPV draw.
Holm beat Rousey to a pulp, knocking her out in round two and capturing the prestigious 135-pound championship belt. An incredible win, and captured perfectly in this snapshot.
So what drives an apparently quiet and humble individual like Holm to put on a performance like that? Well, she has a great training amp at Jackson-Winklejohn in New Mexico, with training partners like Jon Jones there to give help in the gym.
She also has the boxing prowess to cross over in to the world of MMA. As a former champion in the squared ring, her footwork was clearly light years ahead of ‘Rowdy’s.’
So how did Conor McGregor influence her?
