After years of trying to put the bout together, it seemed they missed the window. Floyd’s elusive style, while occasionally fun to watch for boxing fans, did little to entice casual fans to become more invested after the bout was over.
The lacklustre bout had detrimental impacts on Floyd’s ability to draw in his last fight against Andre Berto as well. The PPV numbers which came in for that bout were not what Floyd had become accustomed to.
