Agreed to Fight Wesley Snipes
In 2005, Wesley Snipes was in negotiations with the UFC to fight Joe Rogan. That may seem bizarre, but there was a very real possibility that this fight could take place at one point.
Snipes began training in martial arts at age 12, and was eager to prove himself a legit martial artist. Celebrity boxing had caused a big spike in ratings not too long before this, and perhaps Snipes and his management team were thinking that a good performance against another celebrity (Rogan was also hosting Fear Factor at the time) would boost interest in Snipes’ action movies.
Ultimately negotiations failed and Snipes would be off to jail for tax evasion a couple of years later.
Rogan has always stated his willingness to fight Snipes, but in the end whatever deal was being offered wasn’t good enough for Snipes’ camp.
