Tito Ortiz and Dana White have had a love/hate relationship for a long time. Mainly hate, but there has been some love. Apparently the two have quashed their beefs, with Ortiz saying that Dana sent him a nice text after his retirement bout with Chael Sonnen.
But things have been very rocky between the two in the past. This was especially the case in 2008 when Ortiz attempted to leave the UFC and fight for rival promotions. White, as he has done with numerous fighters, pointed out a clause in Ortiz’s contract that prevented him from jumping to other organizations. This led to Ortiz returning to the company in 2009. The contractual dispute spiralled, and the two spent years at each other’s throats in the media.
