2. Conor McGregor- $22 Million (calculated pre-UFC 205)
Conor McGregor is rumoured to have been a welfare recipient as little as 4 years ago, but now he is the second richest MMA fighter of all time.
Unlike other fighters on this list, Conor has amassed his fortune in a short period of time. He has also done it during UFC’s “Reebok era”, where outside sponsorships are forbidden. 2016 has been Conor’s year, having fought 3 times, breaking records each time.
This year alone, Conor has main event’ed UFCs 196, 202 and 205, each one doing better than the last. While the numbers aren’t yet in for UFC 205, it is expected to be the highest grossing PPV of all time. That would make each of Conor’s fights this year to be the 3 highest grossing UFC events ever.
Provided he continues to fight, Conor McGregor is well on his way to being the richest fighter in the history of the sport. He’s not there yet however.
