Another legend of the sport, Couture is one of the most important figures in the history of MMA. If there’s ever an Mt. Rushmore for MMA fighters, the former UFC marine definitely deserves a place on it. He still holds the record as the promotion’s oldest champion at age 45. However, his actual style wasn’t all that exciting.

Yes, it might be sacrilege to go there, but we’re going to anyway. Couture was not that entertaining to watch. True, he was highly effective, which is what matters for an elite athlete. His clinch and dirty boxing allowed him to control opponents until he got the win. It was gritty but not pretty.
