9. Royce Gracie vs. Dan Severn
Ok, so technically this fight between Royce Gracie and Dan Severn wasn’t a title fight. It was actually the final of a one-night tournament back at UFC 4 in 1994. By this stage, the two men had already navigated their way past two opponents each. Gracie was once again facing a seemingly impossible task against a much bigger fighter in the 260-pound Severn.
Even worse for Gracie, Severn was a strong wrestler. He soon had his smaller opponent on the mat and was dominating him with stifling top pressure. Back in those days, there were no rounds, so the action continued like this for over 15 minutes until Gracie suddenly found an opening. With his razor-sharp BJJ skills, he was able to catch ‘The Beast’ in a triangle choke. Despite his size and strength, there was nothing Severn could do. He was forced to tap out, leaving fans once again amazed by the power of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
