8. Frank Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz

Light heavyweight champion Shamrock was looking for his fourth consecutive title defense when he faced young rising star Ortiz at UFC 22 in 1999. It was a major fight for the UFC back then and it turned out to be a thriller. Ortiz put Shamrock in real adversity in the early rounds as he used his wrestling to take him down and keep him there for extended periods.

Shamrock was doing his best to stay busy under Ortiz. By the fourth round, the challenger was starting to run out of steam. That was when Shamrock seized the moment. He got the weary Ortiz in a guillotine choke. Shamrock then opted to let it go and unleash a barrage of strikes instead that led to ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ tapping out. It was one of the best comeback victories of the pre-Zuffa era.
