It might be a long time before War Machine ever gets out of prison, and that is probably for the best.
Born Jon Koppenhaver, he legally changed his name to “War Machine” after TNA Wrestling claimed they had the rights to the name for their wrestler “Rhyno”. That should have been seen as a red flag right there.
In 2009, after avoiding jail time for 2 previous assaults, War Machine was finally sent to jail. He served 2 years in a San Diego prison.
On August 8th 2014, War Machine viciously assaulted his girlfriend Christie Mack and her male companion. Mack suffered 18 broken bones, a ruptured liver, broken nose, and a broken rib. It is also alleged that War Machine attempted to rape her during the assault.
War Machine was arrested and is currently being held at High Desert State Prison. His trial has been repeatedly delayed and is expected to finally begin in February.
