4. Yoel Romero vs Chris Weidman

Tim Kennedy and Yoel Romero will be fighting on the same card as each other for the first time since “Stool-Gate”. You have to wonder if they will cross paths backstage at all.

Romero’s last fight was a victory over Jacare Souza, though he would unsurprisingly fail an out-of-competition drug test shortly after. What was a surprise however, is that after Romero was able to produce the tainted supplement that caused his test failure his 2-year suspension was reduced to 6 months. All of a sudden a guy we though we wouldn’t see fight again until he was past 40 is now in the hunt for a middleweight championship fight.

Chris Weidman hasn’t fought since he lost the middleweight belt to Luke Rockhold, having to pull out of a scheduled rematch due to injury. Michael Bisping stepped up short notice for that fight and threw the whole division for a loop by winning. Also in the middleweight rankings, Jacare Souza will face Luke Rockhold later in November. Perhaps it will be the best performing fighter out of those four who will get the first crack at the middleweight belt after Bisping vs. Hendo at UFC 204. November will be a very big month for the top of the middleweight rankings.
