It has already been a record year for the UFC, and the company’s first ever event held in Madison Square Garden is still to come.

Now that the UFC has finally gotten their foot in the door of one of the most famous arenas in the world, they are going to go all out. This lineup of fights that the company has put together is arguably more stacked than UFC 200 was. It makes you wonder if we are entering an era of super-shows, where a couple times a year the company puts many of their top stars on the same show together.

3 championship fights, 4 current champions fighting and another 3 former champions also competing that night. 5. Raquel Pennington vs. Miesha Tate

This event is so good that this fight might not even make the main card.

Miesha Tate has had an up and down 2016, but the highs far outweigh the lows for her. First she defeated Holly Holm at UFC 196, winning the UFC bantamweight championship. Then due to Jon Jones’ drug test failure, her title fight at UFC 200 against Amanda Nunes is moved to the main event of what was being hailed as the biggest MMA event of all time. Tate would lose that fight, but critics who believe her career will only go down from here are misguided.

Tate has been in this position before, namely after she lost to Ronda Rousey the 2nd time at UFC 168. Many people said that Tate was done after that fight, she had lost to Rousey twice so where was there left for her to go? Tate responded by winning 5 straight, including her win over Holly. Tate has a lot left to fight for, including potential rematches with Holly, Rousey, and possibly even Nunes.

For that to happen however, she first has to get through Raquel Pennington.
