Lyoto Machida Mauls Rashad Evans

Lyoto Machida was only a replacement when he locked horns with Rashad Evans for the light heavyweight title at UFC 98 in May 2009. But he didn’t disappoint as he brought home the bacon.

Machida scored an early knockdown in the first round and ultimately knocked Evans out with a flurry of punches at 3:57 of the second round. He became the tenth UFC light heavyweight champion in history.

Before Evans was finished, a photographer snapped a picture of Machida bringing havoc to the American titleholder.
