5. Conor Steals Aldo’s Belt
Whether Conor wants to believe this or not, the fact is that he hasn’t heard the last of Jose Aldo.
When Conor knocked Jose Aldo out in 13 seconds he zapped the Brazilian of his aura of invincibility that he had created over the course of his lengthy title reign.
Through the rules of the Highlander movies, Conor absorbed the spirit of Aldo and the public began to believe he was invincible, which is what made everyone lose their minds when Nate Diaz choked him out. But Aldo isn’t finished, and when he is at the top of his game he is one of the best in history. A second fight between the two isn’t going to go the same as the first.
Now that Aldo is the interim champion, and Conor may never defend the championship, this symbolic act of Conor “stealing the championship” from Aldo at this press conference has a weird semi-poetic thing to it.
