
2.) Aldo’s Coming Out Party
Jose Aldo spent years dominating the featherweight division in the WEC and UFC. Scarface looked invincible at times throughout his 6 year title reign, outclassing the majority of the competition he faced during that time. His potential was on display early on, even before he dominated titleholder Mike Brown to become the WEC Featherweight Champion.
Aldo faced Cub Swanson at WEC 41 in June of 2009, Swanson wa a fellow up-and-comer in the featherweight division. This fight was expected to be a great match up of two very good prospects. Aldo made sure that it was a quick night, landing a flying double knee that put Swanson out cold in 8 seconds. The result earned him a shot at the WEC Featherweight title, which he won and then went on to become the first UFC Featherweight Champion.
