5. GSP vs Anderson Silva Never Happening

It is unlikely we will ever see the super-fight between GSP and Anderson Silva now. Even if we do get it one day, Silva is so far past his fighting prime now it wouldn’t carry the same level of importance it could have had it taken place earlier.

GSP also hasn’t fought in 3 years and is involved with the new UFC owners’ rival talent agency and fighters association. So there is that preventing a potential fight from ever happening as well.

This was the big fight that no one could stop talking about when they were the two consensus pound-for-pound kings. Ultimately a weight could never be agreed upon however, as GSP refused to go up to middleweight, and Silva said he couldn’t get down to 170lbs. No doubt a huge lost opportunity for Silva, GSP, and the UFC.
