Bellator’s roster received a big influx of talent recently with the signing of Rory MacDonald, but there has always been a sizeable amount of talent signed to the promotion.

More importantly however, is that Bellator seems to be scaling back on their “spectacle” fights; the kind that brought us such timeless classics as Ken Shamrock vs. Kimbo Slice, Royce Gracie vs. Shamrock III, and of course Dada5000 vs Kimbo Slice.

Instead of adding more veteran names from the past, Bellator has been going after some of the current top names in fighting, such as Rory MacDonald and Benson Henderson. They also have a homegrown star in the making in Michael “Venom” Page as well.

Not only has Page proved to be a dominant fighter, with a 7W-0L record in the promotion (11-0 career), but he’s also shown he’s quite marketable. Anybody who breaks out a Pokemon celebration after nearly killing their opponent is a fighter who is going to draw ratings eventually.

6. Rampage Jackson vs. Daniel Cormier

Rampage seemed as though his career was finishing up when he left the UFC in 2013. At that point he had lost 3 fights in a row, and at 35 he seemed like it was all going to be downhill for the former Pride and UFC champion.

It’s been 5 straight wins for Rampage ever since then however, including defeating Fabio Maldonado in his 1 UFC fight during that period. His other 4 fights have been with Bellator, which is too bad because having Jackson in the mix atop the UFC light heavyweight division right now would be pretty fun considering who the champion is.

Daniel Cormier is one of the most hated guys in MMA, because he’s a straight-laced “good guy”, and this would make him an easy rival for Jackson.
