The stars of the UFC aligned for the promotion’s New York debut. UFC 205 is looking amazing right now, as a number of huge fights were announced over night. Following weeks of speculation, the Madison Square Garden pay-per-view is taking shape.

Conor McGregor will challenge Eddie Alvarez in the main event. The lightweight title fight has caused widespread debate though, as McGregor will not be forced to vacate a belt as previously thought.

More Than Just McGregor vs. Alvarez

The UFC 205 fight card is so much more than just the main event. In total there’s three title fights confirmed for New York so far, and plenty of great scraps on the undercard. The welterweight championship fight between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson should not be slept on.

‘The Chosen One’ took the belt from Robbie Lawler at UFC 201 with a crushing knockout. Controversy stirred among fans as it first appeared like Woodley would be fighting Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz next. The fight with ‘Wonderboy’ was finally announced, but now Woodley is aiming some trash talk at Donald Trump (?).

Woodley vs. Trump

Presidential candidate Donald Trump had some rather controversial opinions aired again last night. During the debate with Hilary Clinton, the polarizing billionaire made some rather crass remarks about Ferguson, Missouri.

Ferguson is where Tyron Woodley comes from, born and raised, and he told TMZ reporters that Trump needs to watch his mouth:

“I got something for you Donald Trump,” Woodley said … “Quit mentioning Ferguson. Because you ain’t never been to Ferguson and that’s where I’m from.”

“He gotta keep Ferguson out his mouth so he can keep my fist out of his mouth. I take that personally because he hasn’t been there.”

Well, if Donald Trump has learned anything today, it’s that he should avoid Tyron Woodley at all costs. In other UFC 205 news–CHRIS WEIDMAN VS. YOEL ROMERO!
