The UFC Have Released a Statement About Conor McGregor’s Actions… And They’re Not Impressed…
Conor McGregor’s ludicrous actions yesterday are going to have far-reaching consequences. The UFC top brass is not impressed with the Irishman after the crazy events involving his team outside the Barclay Center last night.
The Irishman was videoed, with a gang of at least 20 men, throwing dollies and trash cans at the UFC red corner fighter’s bus. Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were both injured in the attack and will be unable to compete on Saturday. Meanwhile, Artem Lobov has also been pulled from the event, because of his role in the attack.
Obviously, the UFC isn’t happy with all of this. Dana White has called it “the most disgusting event involving a fighter in the history of the organization. The company has released an official statement to the best, outlining their displeasure. Both McGregor and Lobov have mentioned by name. Severe recriminations are likely for both men.

Arrested
Currently, McGregor is being held in custody by the NYPD in the 78th Precinct. He’s expected to go before a judge at about 7 am EST. The UFC statement states:
“The organization deems today’s disruption to be completely unacceptable and is working on the consequences that will follow.”
That sounds ominous for the two men. In an insane week for UFC 223, which saw Tony Ferguson replaced by featherweight champion Max Holloway, this was all the organization needed. Nobody could have predicted the sheer insanity of the Irish team’s actions.
Casualties
A UFC employee was injured in the attack, as were Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa who were both meant to fight on Saturday against Anthony Pettis and Brandon Moreno respectively. As a result, Zabit Magomedsharipov’s fight against Kyle Bochniak has been promoted to the main card.
Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas was reportedly in shock following a near miss with an object that almost struck her head. Allegedly she walked back to the hotel unscathed and will be fit to compete. The UFC takes the health and safety of its employees very seriously, so severe action is highly likely to be taken.

Full Statement
At the moment we can only speculate what impact this burst of insanity will have on McGregor’s UFC career and ability to work in America in general. It’s highly likely that both Lobov and McGregor will be cut because let’s face it: They’ve gone too far. The full statement can be read below.
“During today’s media event at Barclays Center to promote UFC 223: Khabib vs. Holloway, Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov entered the building accompanied by over a dozen individuals.
The group, which included McGregor and Lobov, vandalized the vehicle that contained a number of athletes competing at the event taking place this weekend. NYPD was immediately alerted and is currently in the process of investigating the situation. UFC is working very closely with the New York Athletic Commission, Barclays Center security and law enforcement authorities. All parties are working together to ensure the highest standard of proper safety precautions are implemented to protect the fans and athletes.
The organization deems today’s disruption completely unacceptable and is currently working on the consequences that will follow. Immediately, Lobov has been removed from this weekend’s card and individuals involved in the incident are not welcome at tomorrow’s ceremonial weigh-in or Saturday’s event at Barclays Center.”
