Conor McGregor’s Plea Deal is Expected to Include Elements of Youth Outreach in New York City…
It looks like Conor McGregor is going to be getting familiar with New York City. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that the Irishman was in court last week, June 14, on charges of criminal assault. His court appearance lasted for a mere 45 seconds.
‘The Notorious,’ alongside his SBG Ireland teammate Cian Cowley were the only two men, out of a group of about 20, who were charged for their roles in an attack on a UFC media bus at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. This took place in the run-up to UFC 223, with Khabib Nurmagamedov the specific target.
It was widely expected that McGregor’s team would lodge a plea agreement. This has happened and it looks highly like that the Irishman will be working with young people because he’s such a great role model y’know?
Plea Agreement
SB Nation has reported that McGregor is expected to work with New York’s deprived inner-city youth. After a week or two of that, he might prefer to go to jail. Maybe he shouldn’t be let near them though. The Notorious is notorious for his gangland friendships and for coming from a particularly rough part of Dublin, Ireland.
However, if he genuinely makes a difference then that would be pretty cool. At the end of the day, his initial success came off the back of him building this whole identity that he’s a modern-day working class hero. Since earning a $100 million against Floyd Mayweather, he’s gone a little bit crazy though.
McGregor has attacked Marc Goddard, made racist, homophobic, and sexist comments destroyed property and had a hit placed on him by gangsters, yet is untouchable by the UFC. It certainly seems like he has a lot to teach young people. Especially how to avoid violence. The Irishman is good at running away, having set the record for the longest time without defending a title.
Apology
After the court appearance, McGregor released a statement, via a legal representative, apologizing for his actions. To be fair, the money probably went to his head. If I had a $100 million, I’d probably be off my head too. His legal advisor told the media:
“I regret my actions that lead to today. I understand the seriousness of this matter and I am hopeful this will get worked out. Thank you, everyone.”
Short and sweet.

Fight Time
The Irishman is widely expected to make his comeback at the upcoming UFC 229 in October. That’s entirely dependent on how his court case goes, but if July 28 works in his favor, we should hear an announcement pretty soon.
he’s expected to fight Khabib Nurmagamedov, and end their toxic rivalry. The promotion for this fight would be unbelievable and it’s widely expected that it would be the biggest fight ever in the history of MMA. ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley is expected to fight in the co-main event. You can see what the UFC is doing. They want a new star.
