Demetrious Johnson has suddenly found his voice…
After ten straight title defenses as UFC flyweight champion, it seems Demetrious Johnson is a changed man. Johnson faced Wilson Reis in the UFC on FOX 24 main event, and all the pressure was on the champion.
Chasing Anderson Silva’s record, ‘Mighty Mouse’ needed win number 10 to make it a tie. After his third round submission victory, Johnson had made the milestone. All this, and the viewing numbers for UFC Kansas were the lowest in FOX-UFC history.
Perhaps Johnson’s comments about making more money have led to him becoming more vocal today.
Mighty Mouse Speaks Up
During the post-fight press conference in Kansas City, Johnson called out Conor McGregor, of all people. Explaining he wanted a ‘seven figure payday,’ Johnson even said he wouldn’t care if ‘The Notorious’ KO’d him.
“A lot of people are coming … ‘Ooh, fight him, he’s scared’ … I’m like, ‘Dude. I will f—ing fight Conor McGregor for the biggest payday of my life. If I got knocked out, perfect. Thanks, Conor. You weigh 170 pounds, but guess what? I’m going to be laughing all the way to the bank.”
“But if you ask me who would I like to fight, and I know I’m going to make the most money, I’ll fight Conor McGregor.”

This kind of trash talk is literally unheard of from Johnson. Check out this video footage of Johnson taking a swipe at Jon Jones for ‘crashing cars and doing cocaine.’
“I’m a great company guy, I don’t bash my company. I don’t bash my opponents. (I’ve) never missed weight, never done any drugs. I’m not at home beating my wife, crashing my car, doing cocaine, all that stuff. I’m not asking for a lot.”
