Many young stars have signed with their team for maximum pay. Most notably Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell. Both players are potential franchise players in the near future.

The Utah Jazz Shooting Guard has signed to a five year, $195M designated rookie extension. Donovan Mitchell is arguably the best player in the team right now and he carried his team to a 7 game series against the Denver Nuggets.

Even though the team was eliminated in the first round, they had a 3-1 lead in the series. Donovan Mitchell had a historic playoff performance that may have increased his stocks resulting in a huge pay rise.

Jayson Tatum also had the same amount for his extended contract. The Boston Celtics reached the Conference Finals but fell short against the Miami Heat. Tatum and Jaylen Brown were the huge pieces in their playoff run.

They had a chance to go to the Finals but fell short, it was maybe because of a new team roster. Kemba Walker who was their starting point guard may have underperformed considering how good he played in the Charlotte Bobcats.

Another potential star is Brandon Ingram, who was a former Laker but was traded to get Anthony Davis. Ingram is the highest scorer in the Pelicans and is an all-star last season. He and Zion Williamson could potentially have good chemistry playing side by side. Ingram signed a $158M maximum deal for five years.

The Pelicans are a small market team but they boast a young core. Lonzo Ball, Zion Williamson, and Brandon Ingram could be a potential 3 all-star team. Though the Pelicans released Jrue Holiday.

Gordon Hayward also signed a huge deal which for me is overpaying for his potential. He is injury prone so that creates risks whether he plays or not, he still gets paid. Gordon Hayward just signed a deal with Charlotte for 4 years that cost $120M. No disrespect for Hayward but it is kinda overpaying.

Gordon Hayward is not in his prime anymore. His best time was when he was in the Utah Jazz where he was an all-star caliber player. He had huge potential but after injuries piling up, he was never the same. I hope Hayward proves me wrong and gets back to his former self.

The reigning MVP and DPOY, Giannis Antetekounpo has yet released official announcements about what time he will join for next season. Although, the supermax deal of Giannis is a huge amount that could favor his interests in staying with the Bucks.

One of the players that Giannis Antetokounmpo was interested in playing with was Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Sacramento Kings but couldn’t acquire him. The Atlanta Hawks offered $72M for four years.

The Sacramento Kings failed to match the $72M contract so Bogdanovic accepted the Atlanta Hawks’ offer.  The Atlanta Hawks have gotten good players to play with their young star, Trae Young. Rajon Rondo also signed a deal with the team.

Serge Ibaka is now a Los Angeles Clipper, Dwight Howard also switch teams to the Philadelphia Sixers.

Miami Heat All-Star, Bam Adebayo also re-signed with the team for an extension. Adebayo who was crucial in their playoff run has signed a huge contract for a $163M five-year deal.

Adebayo was injured in the Finals which may have resulted in underperformance, but yet still proves that he is an important piece in the Heat Nation.

The two biggest players that have not yet signed their contracts are Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and James Harden.

It is most likely James Harden will switch teams since he denied the Houston Rocket’s offer. Brooklyn Nets is the rumored team, he will potentially pair up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
