Joe Rogan watched as one of the greatest champions in UFC history got KO’d again at UFC 212…

Following last night’s epic UFC 212 pay-per-view, the UFC featherweight division is truly shook up. Facing arguably the greatest featherweight of all-time in Jose Aldo, Max Holloway put on a career performance.

Going up against a surging contender like Holloway was never going to be easy, but Aldo had overcome so many challenges like this in the past. Eventually it was the speed and relentless attack of ‘Blessed’ that won the day.

Holloway brutalized the now-former champion for a huge win…

And New…

Finishing Aldo in the third round, Holloway capped off an exciting fight with a savage finish. Although Joe Rogan was not present in his usual commentary spot, he watched the fight with Brendan Schaub and co.

Rogan’s reaction was typically entertaining. Skip to the 1:57:00 mark in the video below to watch Rogan, Schaub, Eddie Bravo and Bryan Callen react to Aldo vs. Holloway:

Rogan’s Comments on Aldo During Fight Week

Earlier this week, the popular UFC commentator had mentioned Aldo during another podcast episode. As transcribed by MMAFighting.com:

“Aldo’s legacy and his reign is always gonna be tarnished by that 13 seconds against McGregor. Which is so crazy because you take away that fight and he’s got one brutal war with Chad Mendes where he got rocked and stunned, which is a tough fight – the second one – great fight. And those are the only hard moments he’s had inside the octagon other than maybe round five against Ricardo Lamas.”

“Lamas had him down and was doing a little bit of ground and pound in the fifth round and that was Aldo was too drained making that weight, but he’s smaller now. Generally he looks smaller. He definitely chose to slim down because he was having unbelievably brutal weight cuts early in his career. He was just too big for the weight class so he just chose to slim his body down.”

What’s next for Aldo? You’d think that retirement is likely now, although he has spoken frequently about transitioning to boxing. The following image captured by Esther Lin of MMAFighting.com says more about last night’s events than any words can.
