What a performance by Stipe Miocic!

UFC 198 went down in Brazil last night (Saturday May 14, 2016) in front of a packed out 45,000 seater Arena de Baixada in Curitiba. The main event was a heavyweight title bout between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic.

‘Vai Cavalo’ started off well, picking apart Miocic with a nice blend of strikes on the feet, but the fight would not see a second round. As predicted by many though, it was a huge gamble for Werdum to keep this fight standing.

Miocic flattened the Brazilian in front of his home crowd with a thunderous punch, leaving the former champion in a crumpled mess on the floor.

The quiet Croatian who had taken the division by storm in recent years had finally taken his seat at the top of the pile.

So for Werdum it’s clear he still needs work done on his striking technique, and that’s evident from the crushing KO that Miocic handed him.
