Wow! What an unbelievable main event from Rio…
Heading in to last night’s UFC 212 main event, many interesting questions were being asked. Having lost to Conor McGregor at UFC 194, but bounced back against Frankie Edgar, fans wondered whether Jose Aldo was gearing up for another long run.
Facing Max Holloway, who has been on fire lately, was a great litmus test regarding Aldo’s future. Even with the hometown advantage in Brazil, Aldo was unable to get the win. Looking on razor sharp form, Holloway unified the featherweight title in a fantastic display.

Slow Start, Big Finish…
Although he got off to a slow start, Holloway blitzed Aldo with a crushing third round TKO. The former champion’s legacy is undeniable, as is the changing of the guard that happened last night.
Handling the pressure of foreign territory and his first real title fight, ‘Blessed’ arrived with a BANG!

What’s Next For Max Holloway?
A certain someone called Conor McGregor might make an interesting rematch for Holloway. That said, the Irishman is away on holiday looking to fight Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring.
Whether or not that second fight happens is surely uncertain, but one thing is now in concrete-Max Holloway is the undisputed boss at 145 pounds.

Biggest fight for Hawaiian MMA since UFC 94? 118? Either way, this is really cool. Holloway has come a long way since UFC 143.
