Everybody has a bad day but there’s no excuse for taking out your fury on people in the service industry. Typically they’re low paid jobs, with the workers in no mood to deal with your crap. Well, one customer didn’t get the memo in a McDonald’s in St. Petersburg, Florida the other day.
Now and again some great footage emerges of ridiculous brawls in restaurants and we’ve got another great video for you today. This one has gone viral across several news networks in Europe and the US because it’s just so ridiculous.
A customer grabs a McDonald’s worker because he didn’t get a straw. What he didn’t count on is that she’s a trained boxer, so not only did he get arrested after, he also took a few nasty punches to the face. Ouch. Watch the clip below.
Humiliated
40-year old Daniel Taylor was arrested after attacking a McDonald’s worker in St. Petersburg, Florida. After he didn’t get a straw with his drink he flipped out. 20-year old Yasmine James tried to explain to him the new City Council policy that customers must specifically request straws when ordering.
Taylor didn’t like this and decided the past way to make his point clear was to grab the young woman and pull her over the counter. He didn’t count on her being an amateur boxer and she went mental, launching punches to and near his face. While he doesn’t get knocked down, he’s definitely taken aback by her ferocity and has the cheek to tell her manager:
“I want her fired right now.”

Arrested
To add insult to injury, Taylor was arrested after the incident. At the end of the day, James was well in her right to defend herself, although it’s a bit ridiculous that none of her fellow employees tries to drag the man off of her, instead of pulling her away. Eyewitness Brenda Biandudi, who first uploaded the footage to Instagram, told the Washington Post:
“She told him that it’s the law now that they’re not supposed to have the straws in the lobby. He said there’s no such law. I said this is getting a little heated here. I better get my camera ready in case somebody needs to know what happened. He came back in the store and went behind the counter and got in the manager’s face. And another employee, a bigger guy, he actually grabbed the guy and put him outside the door and locked the door.”

Reports emerged later that Taylor made matters work by attacking another worker on the way out when he was escorted out of the fast-food joint.
“The victim was kicked in the stomach by the defendant, and was complaining of pain,” police stated in an affidavit. “The defendant was being escorted out of the business by management due to him battering another employee, and causing a disturbance. The defendant kicked the victim in the stomach while she was standing near the exit door.”
