UFC’s middleweight division is a mess.

It all started when former champion Chris Weidman had to pull out of UFC 199, allowing Michael Bisping to step in and score the upset title win. Then a 46-year old man was given a title shot, and the entire division started to complain publicly.

2 Big Fights Coming Up in the division include:
#3 Jacare Souza vs. #1 Luke Rockhold (Nov.26)
#2 Chris Weidman vs. #4 Yoel Romero (Nov.12)

With all 4 top contenders in the division scheduled to fight in November, Bisping could take a fight in December. Doing so would earn him a title fight payday without having to face a top contender.

“I’m not going to risk my reputation and my title against some chump, but if there’s money on the line, then I’ll do it. And if Nick Diaz wants to go at UFC 206, formally, officially, I invite you to sign the bout agreement.” Bisping stated on his radio show.

Nick Diaz, who has fought primarily at welterweight throughout his career, has only fought 3 times since 2012, losing all 3 fights.

The other available fight for Bisping at UFC 206, would be against Anderson Silva. Bisping might not be too keen to have a rematch with the fighter he barely squeaked by at Fight Night 84, but you have to wonder if this fight could come to pass. Silva was one of the many fighters who was complaining about Dan Henderson being given the last title shot, one could only assume he’s still interested in getting back the middleweight championship he once held for 7 years.
