Michael Bisping might have time to squeeze in one more “money-fight” before he has to defend the middleweight championship against a legit contender.
The middleweight champion has been targeting UFC 206 as a card he would like to get on top of. He had been publicly campaigning for a fight with Georges St. Pierre, a bout that appeared to be in the works until GSP’s contract negotiations fell apart. Since that time Bisping has been calling out Nick Diaz to pair up against him to main event the show.
UFC 206 appears to be the great forgotten PPV in 2016. Squeezed in between UFC 205 in MSG and the return of Ronda Rousey at UFC 207, UFC 206 in Toronto was supposed to be the return of the greatest Canadian fighter of all time.
As the card stands now, Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson 2 will be the main event; hardly the caliber of event the UFC has been producing as of late.
There is an open main event spot on December 10th, Bisping wants it but he needs a big name opponent to fight.
