Nate Diaz Gets Salty With Clay Guida and Hits Him Sucker Punch at Combate Americas Show…
Don’t mess with Nate Diaz: the man holds a grudge. The Stockton fighter fought and lost t Clay Guida way back in 2009, but it seems like he still harbors some resentment towards ‘The Carpenter.’
The pair were attending Combate Americas 20: Mexico vs the USA, taking place in Los Angeles. According to tweets by Tyler Diamond, one of Clay Guida’s teammates, Diaz shoved Guida from behind, sparking off a melee between the two men’s groups. Allegedly Guida was left bloody from the altercation.
It’s not the first time that this has happened. Remember that brawl at Strikeforce: Nashville, way back in 2010? The Diaz brothers love a fight, inside or outside the cage. It’s believed that Diaz was responding to Guida calling him ‘a little bitch’ online the other day. You reap what you sow.
The Instigator
According to Diamond, the attack was instigated by Diaz who pushed Guida in the back without any warning. Of course, all hell broke loose. The Diamond described how it went down:
“He just pushed @clayguida who I was talking to & I got in the middle of it trying to descalate the situation & he slapped me & his entourage of ten dudes who knew he was going to do that tried jumping me.”
The Skrap Pack do tend to travel in numbers. They’re like wasps. It starts off with one stinging you and then the next thing you know there’s a whole swarm of them all over you. Not fun.

Stockton Slap
Diamond also found himself on the receiving end of a ‘Stockton Slap’. That’s the hallowed technique that the Diaz brothers use to sting their opponent’s faces and dignity in the octagon. He reacted:
“I was talking face to face with Clay, he got pushed & I saw Nate & about ten other dudes so I stepped up with my arms out trying to deescalate the situation & Nate then slapped me while one of his groupies rabbit punched me.”
Sorry Tyler, that’s what happens when you mess with Stockton’s finest.

Typical Diaz
Diaz remains one of the most colorful characters in MMA. Last week he was linked to a UFC return fight against former welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St. Pierre. After Dana White got everyone excited, both St. Pierre and Diaz himself revealed that there was definitely no guarantee that it was going ahead.
Diaz went as far as calling out the UFC Hall-of-Famer for steroid abuse in the run-up to beating his older brother Nick. The Californian hasn’t made an octagon appearance since 2016 when he lost to Conor McGregor, in a fight that has since been voted to be the Greatest of All Time by UFC fans.
It still remains possible that he will fight St. Pierre, but you can bet the contract negotiations will be ruthless. In the meantime, he’s happy slapping the heads off of people and lighting up joints at MMA events. Just another day in the life of a Diaz Brother.
