Former Pride FC champion and UFC veteran Wanderlei Silva is once again going to fight in Japan. After more than three years on the shelf, ‘The Axe Murderer’ is now signed with Rizin Fighting Federation and Bellator.

Silva was caught up in a whirlwind of controversy stateside. After fleeing a Nevada commission drug tester while fighting for the UFC, the Brazilian was initially banned for life by the NAC. The ban was eventually reduced to three years.

Return to Japan

Although he can’t compete on American soil until 2017, the ban does not prevent Silva from fighting in Japan. Rizin’s 16-man tournament starts this weekend, and Wanderlei Silva is back in the far East where his career first gained steam.

A new video has emerged today that shows Silva getting in a heated confrontation with his old rival in Japan. Filmed in a hotel, it shows ‘The Axe Murderer’ challenging Charles ‘Krazy Horse’ Bennett to fight him in the lobby.

Beef With Bennett

Wanderlei Silva and Charles Bennett have beef that dates back to the Pride FC days. In a notorious viral video filmed backstage in Tokyo, Silva’s team mate chokes Bennett out cold during an unsanctioned fight.

Things got very heated, and Silva was egging the fight on big time. After all was said and done that night, ‘Krazy Horse’ claimed he knocked out Wanderlei when the cameras stopped recording.

Here’s the first time they have seen each other since. Check it out:
