1. Ronda Rousey

Like many fighters on this list, Ronda Rousey is a true pioneer for the sport. If not for Ronda Rousey, there is a good chance there still wouldn’t be women fighters in the UFC. For that reason, every woman fighter signed to the promotion owes a debt of gratitude to her.

But Rousey reacted as poorly to her loss to Holly Holm as any athlete has ever. Many draw comparisons to how she dealt with her loss in the Olympics, when she quit the sport of judo for good afterwards. It seems that Rousey has a tendency to run away after a loss.

Many will say that she went into her fight with Amanda Nunes with the wrong strategy. While this is true, it probably wouldn’t have mattered. Rousey didn’t want to get hit, and no woman in the division hits harder than Amanda Nunes.

Ronda Rousey went from being arguably the most dominant champion in the promotion, to looking as though she has no place competing against her division’s top fighters in just two fights. It is probably the case that Ronda checked out of her fight career after her loss to Holly Holm, but a $3 million paycheque was enough to motivate her for one more fight. It just wasn’t enough to motivate her to win.
