5. Gray Maynard

Definitely most famous for having one of the most exciting rivalries in the history of the sport with Frankie Edgar, Gray Maynard is one of the UFC’s all-time best fighters never to win a title. He fought Rob Emerson in the finale of TUF 5, which bizarrely ended as a no-contest by way of a double slam, with both fighters ruled unable to continue.

Maynard fought twice for the lightweight title against Frankie Edgar. The first one was a draw and an epic fight of the night with Edgar retaining his belt. He’d get knocked out in their rematch, despite dropping ‘The Answer’ multiple times, in one of the greatest battles ever.
