Corey Hill’s Leg Break
One of the most horrifying moments ever seen in a UFC bout occured during the first ever UFC ‘Fight For The Troops’ event in 2008 when Corey Hill fought Dale Hartt.
Early in the second round of the fight the tall, lanky Hill threw a leg kick that was checked by Hartt and instantly broke his leg.
It was a gruesome injury, but as he fell to the mat and Hartt got on top it wasn’t clear whether the referee had realized what had happened.
However, color commentator Joe Rogan spotted it instantly and in a panic he got up from the commentary booth while yelling at the top of his lungs, “His leg is broken! Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop the fight! Stop the fight!”
Thankfully the referee responded before Hill had to take any more unneccessary damage.
