Angela Magana vs Cris ‘Cyborg’
Angela Magana got to experience the effects of karma first-hand when she cruelly and relentlessly trolled Cris ‘Cyborg’ on social media.
Despite the two fighters not even being in the same weight class, Magana took it upon herself to repeatedly make fun of Cyborg’s appearance, call her a man, insinuate that she was transgender and that she was still using steroids.
The final straw came when Magana made fun of a picture of Cyborg visiting kids at a sick children’s hospital in Brazil, comparing her to a character from a horror movie.
Not long after that Cyborg confronted Magana while at a UFC Fighter’s Retreat weekend in Las Vegas, accusing her of being a cyber-bully and demanded that she show her respect.
When Magana refused, Cyborg proceeded to punch her in the face, leaving her with a bloodied lip.
Magana would go on to press charges and Cyborg would be cited for battery, though the charges were subsequently dropped after she attended anger management courses.
Nevertheless, Magana was widely condemned for provoking Cyborg, who received almost unanimous support from the MMA community for her actions, including fellow female fighter Miesha Tate, who stated that, “I wish she would have punched Angela harder. Angela is a bully, you know? She’s like a child who never grew up.”
