8. Frank Trigg v Matt Hughes

Frank Trigg was a very high-profile fighter during his time with the WFA. When they were bought up by the UFC, Trigg was instantly plucked by the promotion and put into a title fight with Matt Hughes. Regarded by many as the second greatest welterweight of all time – after Georges St. Pierre – this was a massive fight.

Hughes would win by submission after a busy first round, setting up one of the biggest rivalries in the history of the sport. Trigg never won the championship but he was still loved by fans for being a bad dude.
