2. TJ Dillashaw v Joe Soto
Joe Soto attracted the attention of the UFC as the winner of Bellator’s bantamweight grand prix and as Tachi Palace’s inaugural bantamweight champion. ‘The Hammer’ was clearly going places and was snapped up by the world’s biggest MMA promotion as soon as he became available. However, he could never have expected the conditions of his debut.
Renan Baros was booked to fight TJ Dillashaw in a much-anticipated rematch. However, he had a bad weight-cut and had to pull out. The UFC needed Dillashaw to stay on the card because it was too light to be a pay-per-view without him. So Soto stepped up and would last until the fifth round against the best bantamweight in the world, before getting KOed.
