Something big is coming on August 26. Going up against one of the greatest defensive boxers of all-time, a technical wizard, Floyd Mayweather, is…Conor McGregor. As wild as it sounds, it’s damn real.
Over the last few weeks it became clear these two are hunting big ticket sales. Numerous stunts and explosive moments during their four-day world tour had all eyes on the infamous duo.
Still, you can’t help but think this might be the biggest charade in combat sports history.
Mike Tyson Got Mad
Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson has been very vocal about Conor McGregor lately. During an interview on Pardon My Take, ‘Iron Mike’ said “McConor” is going to get “Killed:”
“McGregor is going to get killed in boxing! I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy? “McConor” put his dumbass in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy (Floyd) has been doing this (boxing) all his life since he was a baby.”
“Conor can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance. McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing!”

“No way (he knocks out Mayweather) it’s got a circus atmosphere. Floyd never met a character like this. It’s so funny, man. I never thought it was gonna happen. It’s sucker rules for McGregor.”
“Only way it could ruin boxing is if McGregor goes and boxes Floyd because he’s going to look really ridiculous boxing him,” Tyson told SiriusXM Sports. “But if he goes in there with the UFC stuff, now this could be pretty interesting. He doesn’t win in a boxing match. People will pay for anything. If two people are fighting, people will pay for it.”
Tyson Does Like McGregor
“Conor is very charismatic. Jon Jones is bad, but deep down he’s a decent kind of person and very shy. Whereas this guy, Conor, he’s the man. He reminds me of the old-time boxers, one of those guys that’s just into everything. He walks into the room and everybody stands up. He sucks the air out of the room. He’s just a really interesting guy. He does things nobody else has been able to do, too.”
“He’s kind of like an animated character, one that’s real though. He’s a great fighter, but his personality is even bigger than his talent. Isn’t that crazy? He’s got this huge personality. Nobody in MMA has ever had a personality as big as his. Ronda [Rousey] is just like a monster. The things she would do, but this guy is different. His personality is phenomenal.”
