Cung Le

Juggling a movie career alongside his MMA career as he approached his 40’s, perhaps Cung Le should have hung up his gloves after a ‘Knockout Of The Year’ victory over Rich Franklin in 2012.

However, when the opportunity came to main-event opposite Michael Bisping in Macau during the summer of 2014, the former Strikeforce champion jumped at the opportunity.

It proved to be a long night for the veteran however as he couldn’t match Bisping’s striking volume, footwork and most importantly energy reserves, which meant that his face became a grotesquelly swollen mess as the fight moved into the later rounds.

By the fourth round Le had wilted and Bisping was still fighting at a high tempo, working to the body and head with punches before going upstairs with a hard knee to the face that floored Le and signalled not only an end to the fight, but the end of his career.
