2. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs James Thompson
Pudzianowski has won the title of the World’s Strongest Man on 5 occasions, more than any other competitor in history, contributing to his fame as the pride of Poland. Now competing in mixed martial arts, Pudzianowski is a very marketable fighter in his home country.
He began competing in mixed martial arts in 2009 and has done alright for himself, he even KO’d a member of the legendary Gracie family (Rolles Jr.) in May of last year.
In his second fight against James Thompson (the guy whose ear almost fell off in a fight against Kimbo- another somewhat suspect fight) he was originally awarded a very suspicious victory from the judges. The show was held in Poland and went to a judge’s decision after just 2 rounds, where the Polish judges awarded the fight to Pudzianowski despite Thompson clearly being the better fighter.
Thompson got on the microphone and ran down the promotion afterwards. The victory for Pudzianowski was overturned later and changed to a “No Contest” due to “Judge’s Error”
