Sit down Jon Jones, you just got served…

Since winning in a big way at UFC Fight Night 109, Alexander Gustafsson has been very vocal. Having challenged for the light-heavyweight title twice in his career, Gus was starting to become the man very few want to be-the gatekeeper.

Defeat against Glover Teixeira in Sweden would have surely seen Gustafsson in trouble. Coming out with a ferocious striking clinic, Gus left no doubt in anyone’s minds. ‘The Mauler’ is back, and he’s talking serious trash too.

Mauler Swipes Bones

During the hours following his huge KO win against Teixeira, Gus took aim at his old rival Jon Jones. The two shared a thrilling UFC 165 title fight when ‘Bones’ was champion, but Gustafsson showed Jones no respect as ‘a person’ in his statements:

“I don’t like him,” Gustafsson told reporters at the UFC Fight Night 109 post-fight press conference. “I give him that he’s the best fighter of all-time, the best pound-for-pound fighter of all divisions — of course, everybody knows that. He hasn’t even lost a fight yet, he demolishes everyone he fights. But as a person, he’s not a champion in my eyes. He’s not a good person in my eyes.”

“That’s why I always tell the guys, ‘I hope that DC [Daniel Cormier] wins (at UFC 214) because I like the guy, he’s a worthy champion. So that’s what I mean when I say that he’s the biggest enemy of all-time.”

It didn’t take long for Jones to respond to these comments, and that in turn led to Gus absolutely wrecking his old rival with a single USADA-based Tweet:

Jones Blasts ‘Dork’ Gustafsson

“”Jon Jones is a bad person” you sound like a f—king dork. Congrats on the engagement though, beautiful woman.  Of course you are rooting for Daniel Gus, you might as well pray for him while you’re at it.”

“And here’s a little FYI, you didn’t lose against DC and I because of your cardio, it was because your lack of heart.”

Gus took the ball and ran with it, pointing out Jones’ two failed drug tests:

Alexander Gustafsson is back in the title picture again, and given the recent trend of Jon Jones pulling out of fights, could we see Gus vs. Daniel Cormier 2 soon?
