If you love watching knockouts or athletes exploding inside the cage, then this is the fight to watch outside of the UFC. Probably the biggest dream matchup has been made, Anthony Johnson will face Yoel Romero in the first bracket of Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix. Both Johnson and Romero have fought for the UFC belt more than once but always failed to capture the title of being a champion.
Rumble Johnson x Yoel Romero will take place in the first round of the Bellator LHW tournament.
What a great idea!

Anthony Johnson decided to retire after losing to Daniel Cormier twice, he took a time off but has decided to return to the sport. He was originally scheduled to face Jon Jones but later fought Cormier due to Jones being suspended and stripped of his title. Johnson only lost to one man in the light-heavyweight division and has never been knocked out in the division.
On the other corner, Yoel Romero was released by the UFC. Dana White has said that the UFC had planned of releasing a lot of fighters and Romero was the first among them. He lost four of his last five fights and is already 43 years old. In his defense, he only lost to top 3 contenders in the division and could easily compete in the top 10 contenders.
Anthony Johnson’s last fight was back in 2017 so ring rust could play a factor in his fight. His last fights in the UFC almost guarantee a knockout win but unfortunately he could not do it against Cormier. Johnson has a lot of great wins against names like Glover Teixera, Alexander Gustafsson, and even Ryan Bader who is a former Bellator LHW Champion.
The question is will he be able to knockout someone as durable as Yoel Romero. If anyone can knock him out it could be someone who has the power of Rumble Johnson. Romero ate a lot of bombs against Whittaker and Costa but both failed to knock him out. Costa came as close to knocking him down but he got right back up.
Romero is more known as an explosive fighter where he waits for his opponent to be comfortable and then blitz in a split second. Romero also has one of the best wrestling resumes for an MMA fighter but rarely uses it in his fights as it leads to being gassed in the later rounds. Regardless, Romero has a lot of fun fights but his last fight against Adesanya did not live up to the hype.
