The real Barack Obama also practiced martial arts. He holds a green belt in Taekwondo after studying the discipline from 2001-2005 when he was a junior senator in Illinois. He was also awarded an honorary Taekwondo black belt by South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak back in 2009.
In the video above, we can see what it’s like training at the Gracie Barra Burbank Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Martial Arts Academy, as well as the awarding ceremony where after receiving the merit, Brown then proceeded with a short speech in his trademark impersonation of Obama.
Brown’s physical gift has allowed him to travel all across the globe, lending his comedic talents to various portrayals of Obama, having also been featured in many mainstream media outlets.
He makes a living speaking and acting like Obama at private events for the world’s biggest companies. He has also appeared on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Comedy Central and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
