Some media outlets in Brazil have even discredited Conor McGregor’s victory over Jose Aldo, describing the new champion as a ‘jester.’ Talk about butt hurt….
As the crowd went wild in pure elation at UFC 194, Conor McGregor celebrated the moment he changed the MMA history books. Becoming the first man to defeat Jose Aldo at the highest level, and also by knockout, ‘The Notorious’ unified the featherweight belts with a dominant 13 second knockout.
For Aldo, it’s going to be a tough time deciding what’s next after being smashed so easily. A knockout is one thing, but to get chinned by the first punch that is landed must hurt more than anything.
The internet erupted in a stream of hurtful/humorous memes and gifs, as well as the sensational video of the knockout in Las Vegas. December 12 2015 is a date that will be remembered for a long time in mixed martial arts.
The shocking victory has also led to a clear division being made between both McGregor’s fans and Aldo’s. MMA forums are flooded with arguments over the legitimacy of McGregor’s new held belt, quite wrongly too.
But one thing we haven’t seen is how Aldo’s home nation of Brazil has reacted to his crushig defeat, until now that is.
