There’s a whole lot on the line at UFC 202 on August 20, 2016. Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have a heap of unfinished business to address. Their main event rematch is a rich tapestry of trash talking history.
On just 11 day notice Diaz silenced the crowds of McGregor fans at UFC 196. He’d engaged in some heavy verbal wars with the outspoken Irishman before March 5, but few expected the eventual outcome.
The intense staredowns and press conferences meant little on fight night, as Diaz submitted McGregor in two rounds. The heavy favorite and ‘cash cow’ of the UFC had been humiliated like never before.
His first UFC loss seems to have motivated McGregor, as a number of recent videos and social media posts indicate. The Irish superstar has been working hard on his Jiu Jitsu game, but many question whether he’ll be able to hang with Diaz on the mat.
The inevitable second fight is just two weeks away now, and the promotion are ramping up the hype levels. Conor McGregor has once again gone on the offensive with a wild prediction for UFC 202.
