From training partners, Cris Cyborg and Claressa Shields are now enemies, translating to a possible fight between the two in the future. The possibility of that happening has been growing bigger, with the fighters bringing their grudges online as their fans watch them exchange insults with interest.

The two are currently having a feud on Twitter, which started with a disagreement about an MMA fight. To start, Shields opened the idea of an MMA fight against Cyborg, who agreed if it would be at 145 lbs. Shields, however, denied the condition, pushing her 154 lbs preference. The disagreement about the fight turned into a clash after Cyborg boasted her better payout figures and Shields responded with a warning.

“But I get to my bag and beat tf outta bishes and make 7 figures now,” Shields tweeted, claiming the Cyborg is only trying to prevent a loss. “It’s a 100 ways to say no and 1 way to yes. If you don’t want to box against me, cause you can’t win, just say that.”

After that, the two exchanged insults about other things, including Shields’ GWOAT status. Apparently, Shields didn’t let Cyborg’s comment pass without hitting back:

“I lost by split decision, you got Ko’d first rd in “YOUR” sport! Never forget !!!!” Shields tweeted.

Then, Cyborg replied with another:

“I made more in the one loss than she’s earned in her entire career…MMA &Boxing combined,” Cyborg responded. “Even win I lose. I’m winning. She’s goofy.”

Shield then made a comeback using Cyborg’s defeat to Amanda Nunes.

“They could’ve kept the money,” Shields responded. “I don’t want to get paid if I get knocked out like that. Did you even prepare.”

Ultimately, Cyborg claimed that Shield avoids fights, recalling her refusal to agree with her proposed fight’s condition.

“You so goofy,” Cyborg said. “But now I know why you’re scared to test your chin at 147. Amanda’s success don’t give you confidence at that weight?! GWOAT? I was 14 years undefeated before that night (double your career length). Undefeated sense. Sometimes to reach your best you have to lose. I’m a better women and fighter because of that night.”

While these exchanges are nothing but hateful words between the two female partners, it is undoubtedly making fans more excited about a possible fight between them in the ring. However, there’s obviously no certain timeframe for that, as Cris Cyborg is set to box Kelsey Wickstrum on January 19 at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

Shields, on the other hand, doesn’t currently have a fight scheduled, but Katie Taylor, Franchon Crews Dezurn, Shadasia Green, Hanna Gabriels, and Natasha Jonas are some of the potential opponents she could face soon. Needless to say, fans are hoping that Cyborg will be one of them in the future.
