Is it finally going to happen?
The women’s mixed martial arts scene got a lot more interesting this past weekend, as feared Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg finally made her debut. Justino made her landing at UFC 198, and boy was it a spectacle to behold.
Facing Leslie Smith in a catchweight bout, Cyborg showed why she is one of the most dominant strikers in women’s mixed martial arts. Just seconds in to the first round, she battered Smith in to a TKO victory with a furious flurry of heavy hits.
What an impressive win for the Brazilian Cyborg, but elsewhere on the card there was bad luck for the hometown hero. Fabricio Werdum returned to face Stipe Miocic in the UFC 198 main event, but ended up getting starched by a single punch from Miocic.
But back to Cyborg, she’s now set her sights on her next fight, taking aim at her fierce rival Ronda Rousey, and she already has a date in mind…
