Edmond Tarverdyan came out with one of the weirdest quotes of the year yesterday. Now, Cris Cyborg responds…

Currently courting the WWE for a potential future in pro wrestling, it’s safe to say Ronda Rousey’s fighting days are over. Having dominated the female 135-pound division of the UFC, ‘Rowdy’ suffered her only two career losses in 2015 and 2016.

Although she’d never lost in the past, even as an amateur, these were particularly brutal defeats. First Holly Holm decimated Rousey with a head kick at UFC 193, in one of the biggest upsets, in terms of odds, in MMA history.

After taking more than a year off, Rousey decided to attempt a big comeback. Unfortunately, she hadn’t worked on any of the issues picked up on during the previous fight. The new champion Amanda Nunes battered and finished Rousey quicker than Holm did.

This led to a wave of criticism aimed at Edmond Tarverdyan, Rousey’s controversial striking coach.

Coach Edmond was torn to shreds by the media, fans and even other coaches…

Edmond Claimed Rousey Would Come Back Again

Speaking during an appearance on The MMA Hour, coach Edmond appeared to have lost his mind. Not only did he say Rousey would come back to fight Cris Cyborg, and beat her, but he sent an angry message to other coaches in the game:

“That’s the one,” Tarverdyan said. “I want that fight. When I trained Ronda, I know Ronda could beat Cyborg. I know that. Cyborg is too slow.”

“If injuries weren’t there and everything was where it was, we would take that fight and I’m telling you she’s too slow for us. And Ronda will beat her. Ronda needs a challenge that she really needs to be like this person is no good and I need to prove something to the whole world. That’s how Ronda works good.”

This is the part of the interview that appears to have got Cris Cyborg a little pissed. Check out the angry response:

“If Ronda wants to come back for a fight,” Cyborg said, “I believe it’s better for her to fight Miesha Tate. I’m in another stage of my career. I wanted to fight Ronda when she was psychologically well and confident.”

“Now, if she wants to make a good fight for the fans, we can make it at WWE,” she said. “It would fit perfectly [for her] to go to Hollywood, and for me would be another challenge in my career.

“And something brilliant, her coach would fit perfectly in her corner in WWE, he’s nothing but a joke.”

As if this wasn’t all silly enough, check out Edmond’s message to other MMA coaches below…

“There’s a coach, Duane Ludwig and this other guy. I’m gonna mention their names so they could shut up and know what I’m talking about, because they don’t know shit and they talk too much,”

“I know how to speak to my fighter, right? You think that I trained Travis Browne, but don’t know how to speak to Travis Browne? You do, and I don’t?” he exclaimed. “I train that guy everyday, and I don’t know how to encourage him or give him advice a proper way, with a proper tone, with a proper voice?

“Listen, I’ve trained Vic Darchinyan, 10 time world champion in boxing. You cannot criticize me or post something on your Instagram on your home school page. That’s disrespectful man,” he said. “You have a gym, you feed your family. I have a gym, I feed my family with that gym.

  1. You feed your family loses. Shut up and blend back into the background. You ruined both Ronda and Travis. Luckily Travis was smart enough to see it and left you. It must have been bad for him to leave when his wife still stayed.
