For someone as good as Adesanya, it is difficult to find an fresh challenge for him. Like his Nigerian brother, Kamaru Usman, they have beaten a lot of top contenders that the only opponents worthy of a title shot are those they have already beaten. He is currently scheduled to face Marvin Vettori, a fighter that he beat by a close split decision.

The only two fighters in the top 5 that are riding on a win streak are Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori. Many would say that Whittaker deserves the title shot more due to the quality of opponents he has faced and how dominant his performance were but due to schedule, the timeline did not work for Whittaker.

Whittaker was also okay with giving Vettori the next title shot, even went on to say that wants to fight Vettori for the title instead of Adesanya. He added that Adesanya is a tough puzzle to solve, and stylistically he prefers Vettori.

Since his loss to Adesanya, Vettori went on five fight win streak but the guys he has beaten are not the elite middleweights other than Jack Hermansson. He was scheduled to face Darren Till but Till pulled out due to injury. He then faced Kevin Holland who just lost a few weeks ago.

During their first encounter, Adesanya was still new to the MMA game and he had a lackluster performance against Vettori. Even went on to take down Adesanya in their fight that led to a split decision win for Adesanya. Vettori also said that plans to use the same gameplan that Blachowicz used, will Vettori be able to execute the same gameplan?

Both fighters have improved tremendously since their first encounter. Will the result still stay the same? Adesanya went on to say that this time he will knock Vettori out and for Vettori he thinks that he won the first fight. Come fight night, all the questions will be answered.
