UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is constantly in the headlines. Breaking through as the UFC’s biggest star last year, the outspoken Irishman has also burst on to the mainstream.

Following the announcement of the UFC 205 card, the media frenzy around ‘The Notorious’ has only grown. Aside from the big announcement of the lightweight title fight with Eddie Alvarez, McGregor has been part of a much bigger debate.

Bottlegate and Money

‘The Notorious’ faced a huge fine from the Nevada Athletic Commission today. Slamming McGregor with 50 hours of community service and a $150K fine, the NSAC also advised ‘media training’ after the infamous UFC 202 water bottle fight.

Coming in to the big pay-per-view in New York, one interesting rumour began circulating today. As per Talk MMA on Twitter, the featherweight champion was allegedly KO’d cold in training.

McGregor Knocked Out?

Assuming that he was sparring with someone tailored to Eddie Alvarez’s style, this is an interesting turn up for the books. There’s yet to be any video or photo evidence to back these claims up though.

Obviously sensing an opportunity to get a sly jab in at his opponent, Eddie Alvarez joined the conversation on Twitte. Check out what ‘The Silent Assassin’ said in response to these reports:
